der Kunde

masculine noun · customer · level A1

The plural

die Kunden - in the plural, every German noun takes the article die.

Example

Der Kunde wartet schon lange hier.
The customer has already been waiting here for a long time.

Why der?

Exception! By its form, "Kunde" looks like it should follow the rule Nouns ending in -e, but its real gender is masculine: der Kunde. Learn it as-is.
